Out to Sea Festival of Hues edition by RWK Clark Children eBooks

Whatever flaws we might identify or frustrations we might feel are trivial in comparison to a reader's pure joy in losing himself/herself in a narrative. When all the elements come together: an intriguing plot, thoughtful, profound themes, complex, troubling, characters, and language that make us shudder for its honesty, clarity, and confidence; we gratefully set all analysis aside and give ourselves up to the sheer magic of a great book. And for me, Out to Sea: Festival of Hues is such a book.

A few years in the future, and is set on a cruise ship which is traveling on ocean waters which have been poisoned entirely by a massive chemical spill. The result of this horrific accident has rendered all sea life dead, and is also killing all plant life, but the chemicals also turned the water into some kind of breathtaking killer sideshow, which the cruise line willingly provides. Slowly, the entire planet is dying, but there are those who are wealthy and calloused, only taking these regular cruises to gaze at the beautiful, but deadly, liquid that is keeping them afloat. There is even a famous fireworks event on board which is used for the sole purpose of exploiting the hopeless situation even more. The main characters in this book include Tripp Young, a seventeen-year-old boy whose parents are included amongst those who use the sea for personal amusement, and he despises it. His parents are Jim and Kate Young, who also happen to work for the company responsible for the spill; the same company who markets the waters for their appearance and covers up the truth about the danger. Heidi Collins is his first-time love interest. The cute redhead feels the same loathing for the cruise ship and its indifferent, superficial passengers, but her parents hate it as well. Her father is a scientist who is on the main team working tirelessly to find a solution; the cruise is work for him. His position has been a benefit to Heidi knowing more of the truth than most teenagers want to.

Now, if that doesn’t whet your appetite, I’m not sure what will! This captivating and commendable work had me immersed from the beginning. The story flowed from scene to scene with ease, and the author shows exceptional skill when it comes to storytelling. There are attention-grabbing moments in this page turner that will take the reader on a fascinating journey.

It’s one of those stories that come along once in awhile that makes you want to read it non-stop until you get to the end. And that’s exactly what I did! I’m giving nothing further away here. And this, I hope, will only add to the mystery and enjoyment for the reader!

I’ll certainly be looking forward to reading more from RWK Clark in the future. I would definitely recommend this book. Five stars from me.

Out to Sea Festival of Hues edition by RWK Clark Children eBooks Reviews

Two ships have collided and spilled a chemical that turned the waters to many colors and forced humanity do drink alternatives. The damage is done, but because the water now glows and is so pretty, people take cruises. In this cruise, two characters will meet and fall in love. It's an interesting novel for those who like cruise ships, love stories, and environmental novels.
An intriguing and exciting tale. As the world is doomed by the polluted ocean, two young lovers find solice in each other.
I enjoyed reading this book. The story line was so captivating and had me wanting more and more. I couldn't put this one down. Try it, it's great!!
Liked the story and the plot. The chemistry between Heidi Collins and Tripp Young was electric. This book includes mystery and a difference of opinions. The crime element is good too. I personally like it but,.. well,.. it is missing something can't figure out what. The story could have been more intriguing. Anyways enjoyed it.
A dystopian look into the world that seems to be near its end but through it all, teen angst evolves into first love. The backdrop of this story is a commentary on the denial and lack of responsibility people take at the polluting of this world and how we ignore how delicate the balance of nature is. The author developed good characters that drove the story to its revelation. I enjoyed it.
This book is an amazing piece, the author have a very good strategy of catching reader attention.
I was so deep into the story the author was trying to pass across and got my food burnt. I love every thing about the book, the way the author presented the story was super great, the characters were well developed and even the story was very inspiring, and encouraging.

The book talks about a great disaster happened or occurred as a result of a chemical spillage in a ship and how many sea animals and plant were greatly affected by this catastrophic event. It was amazing to know that a harmful chemical spillage could be very disastrous and teaches everyone a very great lesson.

This book is a must read, buy and enjoy.
This book blends an apocalyptic setting with a search for true love. The way the author describes how everything plays out in terms of humanity's response to a catastrophic chemical spill that poisoned the waters is probably spot on IMO. I think if war or an environmental catastrophe happened today, humans would just go about seeking ways to keep themselves amused. In the case of this novel, people go on cruise ships to see the colorful chemical spill that is destroying the planet. Heidi and Tripp meet and pursue an unlikely relationship that is unlikely to last. The two both seem to look around at the people on the ship in dismay, wondering how they could possibly be so one-dimensional, and how they can see the state of the world in such a nonchalant manner.

This was a very interesting novel, and one unlike any other I have read in recent memory. In the crazy world we live in, where so many seem to think absolutely nothing of environmental devastation/climate change, this book accurately (IMO) reflects how many might react in a real SHTF environmental crisis.
